We offer several kinds of assistance, "the kind of help a neighbor might offer" to residents 50 and older who live in the Tri-Cities, Washington area.
These services are provided by volunteers who have been interviewed, trained, and have undergone a background check. They are a great group, and you’ll enjoy getting to know them. A few of the many benefits our members can expect include:
Volunteer Opportunities: Members are encouraged to share their time and talents with other members in meaningful, comfortable ways. Their family, friends and neighbors may volunteer too.
Transportation: We will take you pretty much anywhere you’d like to go within the Tri-Cities, medical, dental, veterinary, physical therapy, hair dresser appointments, and other everyday errands. Even a walk on the shores of the Columbia River is in our wheelhouse.
Light Home Maintenance: This includes small handyman services such as changing screens, storing and retrieving through-the-window air conditioners, changing light bulbs, indoor/outdoor seasonal tasks, changing smoke detector batteries, etc.
Selected Technical Support: Having trouble understanding your TV remote or your new printer? Need a refresher on how to use a web browser? We’ll help with these and other modest technical or IT questions.
General Support: We provide respite, social visits, friendly calls to members who can’t leave home and their caregivers who need a break. And we’ll help with your mail or organizing your paperwork and run a quick errand if you can’t get out.
Social & Educational Events: Tender Care Village hopes to organize its own activities, as well as promoting local events, programs and classes relevant to members.
